Sunshine, Stitches & Summer Retreats

Summer has brought such a fun burst of creativity to Seamless Getaways lately. The retreat rooms have been filled with bright fabrics, colorful quilts, playful florals and creative projects spread across every table. There’s an energy that comes with summer retreats that always feels extra inspiring, a little more relaxed, a little more playful and full of fresh ideas.
One of my favorite parts of this season is seeing all the different projects guests bring with them. Some are putting the finishing touches on quilts they’ve worked on for months, while others are starting brand-new creative adventures just for fun. Add in late-night laughter, snack breaks, shared inspiration and time spent creating with friends, and it’s easy to see why summer retreats are such a special part of the year at Seamless Getaways.
Queens of Creativity
One of the most creative retreats this season was a special Mother’s Day getaway planned by Tricia’s daughter for her mom. Tricia, her daughters and five quilting besties spent the weekend sewing, laughing and making unforgettable memories together at Seamless Getaways.
And they didn’t just retreat… they fully embraced the fun! The group crowned themselves “Queens for the Weekend,” complete with magic wands used to “Bibbidi,
Bobbidi, Boo” their
quilting purchases into existence.
Fun fact: this group was one of the very first to retreat at Seamless Getaways five years ago. Watching them return, continue traditions and create new memories together was such a joy. Retreat weekends like this are such a beautiful reminder that creativity and friendship truly go hand in hand.

One of my favorite things about teaching is watching creativity grow throughout a class. It’s inspiring to see ideas come to life, confidence build and everyone adding their own personality to each project along the way. Whether you’re learning a brand-new technique or simply enjoying time creating with others, these classes are always full of creativity and fun!

And honestly? That’s such a good reminder. Every unfinished project serves a purpose, even when it’s waiting patiently on the shelf. Some quilts come together quickly, while others take months (or even years) before the timing feels right.
Creativity isn’t meant to be rushed. Our projects are there for us when we have the time, energy and inspiration to enjoy them fully. Sometimes the joy is in the process, and sometimes the best thing we can do is give ourselves permission to come back to a project when we’re ready.
Thank you for continuing to make Seamless Getaways such a joyful and creative place to gather. Every retreat, class and weekend spent together is made even more special by the friendships, laughter and inspiration shared around the tables. Watching your projects come to life and seeing the memories made along the way is truly one of the best parts of what I do.
