Stitching Our Way into Fall!

There’s a special feeling in the air as fall settles into Seamless Getaways. The cooler days, cozy projects and colorful fabrics make this such a wonderful time of year to gather around the quilting table.
We recently welcomed a mother and daughter for a retreat and watching them spend those days creating, laughing and enjoying time together was such a joy. These are the moments that remind me why I love hosting retreats so much.

From Around the World to Seamless Getaways
This month, we’re shining a spotlight on one of our wonderful guests, Peg E.
Peg and her husband, Mike, have explored some truly incredible places together. From the rugged beauty of Alaska to the breathtaking Taj Mahal and the vibrant culture of Thailand, their travels have taken them all around the world.
What I find especially meaningful is that after all those adventures, Peg still makes time to return to Seamless Getaways for classes and retreats. I love that someone who has experienced so many amazing destinations continues to find joy in gathering around a table with friends, working on creative projects and spending a few days simply enjoying the retreat experience.
Peg reminds us that creativity has a way of connecting us no matter where life takes us. Thank you, Peg, for being part of the Seamless Getaways family. We always love seeing where your travels take you, and we're just as happy when they bring you back to us.
Creative Days Ahead!
There’s something about fall that makes me want to start a new project. Maybe it’s the changing colors, the cooler days or simply the feeling that it’s time to settle in and get creative. Whatever the reason, fall is one of my favorite times of year to teach.
This season brings plenty of opportunities to learn something new, try a different technique or work on a project you’ve had your eye on. And of course, there’s nothing better than sharing the experience with fellow quilters.

Behind the Scenes at Seamless Getaways
Help me wish a very Happy Birthday to the woman behind so much of what you see from Seamless Getaways!
Meet Olivia! She has been with me since my husband and I started Seamless Getaways five years ago. She’s the creative mind behind our posts and ads and this past year she took over our newsletters and website too.
With a Master’s Degree in Communication and a career in marketing, Olivia brings so much creativity and joy to everything she does. But what I appreciate most is the person she is. She’s kind, joyful and just plain fun to be around!
Our families first connected through a college friendship between our son and Olivia’s husband. That friendship has given us the opportunity to celebrate together a couple of times a year and we always look forward to catching up and spending time with them.
Thank you, Olivia, for all you do to keep our guests informed and for helping us share their creativity and beautiful work!
Fall is the Perfect Time for a Getaway!
Gather your creative friends and plan a little time away this fall! I currently have openings for September 14–23 and October 4–13.
If you’ve been talking about getting your group together, this could be the perfect opportunity to make it happen. Bring your quilting projects, scrapbooking supplies, card-making goodies or whatever creative project makes you happy. There’s plenty of room to spread out, settle in and enjoy time together.
And we all know that the best part of a retreat is often what happens between the projects. The conversations around the table, the laughter that fills the room and the memories you take home with you.
If you’ve been waiting for the right time to plan your next getaway, maybe this is it!
Words to Sew By
“Collage quilting is the only place where cutting animals, flowers, insects and people out of fabric is therapeutic.”
While teaching collage quilting, I often hear quilters say that cutting out all those little pieces of fabric is surprisingly relaxing. It really is a little like cutting out paper dolls!
There’s something satisfying about taking pieces of fabric and watching them come together to create something completely new. So, the next time you find yourself happily cutting out tiny fabric pieces, just remember… it’s therapeutic! 😉
