March has arrived, and Seamless Getaways is dressed for the season. Fresh spring touches are tucked into every corner, bringing light, color and a renewed sense of inspiration to our retreat space. There is something special about gathering around the tables while the seasons shift outside – it feels like a fresh start for creativity, too.

And the fun isn’t over yet… there’s so much more ahead to look forward to!
Welcome Spring with Inktense & Collage

If your heart is craving quiet time, creative focus and good company, you’ll love what’s coming up this month. March 18–20 spend a few intentional days at our Open Inktense & Collage Quilting Retreat immersed in color, layering and creative exploration. Whether you’re starting a
new collage quilt or making progress on a favorite project, this retreat offers the perfect setting to relax, learn and let your creativity flourish.
Spots are limited, and I would love to welcome you!
Feature of the Month: Margarita Glass

I don’t know about you, but this time of year always has me dreaming of summer – sunshine on the water, salty breezes and something cool in hand. Margarita Glass captures all of that in one joyful collage. This playful quilt magnifies a margarita glass and fills it to the brim with everything we love about summer: ocean life, mermaids, swimmers, boats, sandy shores and
even a few flamingos tucked inside. Every single element was individually cut and carefully placed to build a scene that feels lively and full of motion.
Using Karen Kay Buckley scissors allowed for precise cutting of even the tiniest details without fraying, making those intricate pieces possible. The quilt was finished with variegated thread that echoes the shifting blues and greens of the ocean, adding movement and depth across the surface. It’s a celebration of summer fun, one stitch at a time.
Paper Piecing & Plenty of Progress
February brought a wonderful stretch of focused creativity during our Paper Piecing Open Retreat with instructor Pam Riss. Over the course of three days, quilters worked step by step through an inspirational clock pattern, strengthening their paper piecing skills while creating a finished piece they can proudly display.

The retreat was a meaningful blend of productivity and connection – thoughtful instruction, steady progress, shared meals and plenty of laughter around the tables. It was a beautiful reminder of how much can be accomplished when we step away from daily distractions and dedicate time to learning and creating together.
How does staying a little longer sound?
I’ve been seeing more and more guests choose extended stays, and it’s easy to understand why. When you give yourself extra days at retreat, something shifts. Projects move from “almost finished” to complete. New ideas begin. The pace slows. You truly settle in.
Every additional night you stay reduces the nightly rate by $100:
2 Nights: $600 per night
3rd Night: $500
4th Night: $400
5th Night: $300
6th Night: $200
7th Night: Free
Seven nights and eight full days comes to $2,600 total. With eight guests, that’s just $325 per person for an entire week of sewing, meals shared, laughter and uninterrupted creative time. (The final per-person cost varies depending on your group size.)
Longer stays mean less rushing, more progress and time to truly relax into the retreat experience. I love seeing groups spread out, dig in and make the most of their time here – and I’d love for you to do the same!
Taking Creativity on the Road in 2026
I’m excited to pack up the creativity and head out to meet more of you where you are. In addition to our retreats at Seamless Getaways, I’ll be teaching a variety of classes and workshops designed to inspire and stretch your skills.

Recommended by our Retreaters
One of the things our recent groups have been raving about is the catering from Dave’s Supermarket. Guests are loving the convenience of homemade, reasonably priced meals delivered right to the retreat kitchen.
The Material Girls recently experienced the joy of not cooking at all – enjoying both lunch and dinner delivered fresh, then simply gathering around the table to share a meal together. No prep. No cleanup. Just more time to sew and relax.
If you’d like to take advantage of Dave’s Supermarket catering at your next retreat, be sure to email me ahead of time. I’m happy to help you coordinate the details so you can focus on what you came for – creating.
A Little Creative Truth for March
If you own 200 shades of blue, you still won’t have the right one.
Isn’t it funny how that works? Sometimes the search for the “perfect” fabric is part of the creative journey. It’s a reminder to trust your eye, experiment boldly and enjoy the process as much as the finished piece.
Thank you for being such an important part of the Seamless Getaways community. It’s your creativity and warmth that make every retreat special. I hope to see you soon!
