April showers brought more than flowers around here, they brought full tables, humming sewing machines and so many meaningful moments shared at Seamless Getaways. From laughter-filled evenings to projects slowly coming together, it was such a joy to watch creativity unfold and friendships deepen along the way.

Now that May has arrived, there’s a fresh sense of energy and inspiration in the air. It’s a season that invites new ideas, steady progress and time to truly enjoy the creative process. I’m looking forward to all the creativity, laughter and connection this month will bring!
Now Booking: Your Summer Escape Awaits!
Summer plans have a way of filling up quickly… but have you saved time for yourself? A retreat is more than just a few days away, it’s time to focus, to create and to enjoy being present without the usual distractions. It’s where projects finally get your full attention and where you can spend meaningful time with the people who make it even more special.
And here’s some exciting news: reservations are already starting to fill into 2027! If you have a group you love retreating with, I highly encourage you to plan ahead and secure your spot. Those weekends tend to go quickly!
Featured Quilt of the Month: Flower Shop #1
Laura Heine’s Flower Shop #1 pattern is a beautiful reminder that fabric can become true artwork. Using collage techniques and Inktense pencils, this piece comes to life with rich color, layered texture and vibrant floral detail that almost feels three-dimensional. What makes

collage quilting so fun is the endless creativity it allows. This piece is framed as artwork, but it could easily be transformed into a quilted pillow or another one-of-a-kind project. Every fabric choice, color blend and tiny detail adds personality and makes the final creation uniquely your own.
One of my favorite parts of working with collage techniques and Inktense pencils is seeing how simple fabric scraps can turn into something so bold and expressive. It’s a process that encourages creativity, experimentation and enjoying every step along the way.
A True Local Gem
If you’re looking to add a little extra fun (and fabric!) to your retreat, Tickled Pink Quilt Shop is always a guest favorite.

Guests love the variety of fabrics, the welcoming atmosphere and the sweet personality of the owner, Darcy Woodburn. It’s the kind of place where you walk in for “just a few things,” and leave feeling completely inspired.
And as a little bonus, Seamless Getaways guests receive 10% off while visiting!
Shop Hours:
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 10:00 – 4:30
Wednesday: 10:00 – 6:00
Saturday: 10:00 – Noon
Closed Sunday
It’s the perfect way to add a bit of inspiration (and fun!) to your retreat experience.
Tamarack Jacket Workshop at Threads of Time

Just look at these beautiful Tamarack Jackets! Over two and a half days at Threads of Time, the group worked through the Tamarack Jacket Workshop step by step, bringing their own fabric choices and creative touches into every piece. It was such a productive and inspiring class.
What makes this workshop so special is seeing how each jacket develops its own personality. Even though everyone is working from the same pattern, no two pieces turn out alike, each one reflects the maker’s style, color choices and creativity. The results from this class are truly beautiful and such a great example of what can happen with focused, guided time to create.
Let’s Create Together!
The time we spend together learning, creating and sharing ideas is always so special to me, and I’d love for you to join me at one of my upcoming classes:

Words to Sew By
Can creativity be taught? I truly believe the answer is YES.
Creativity isn’t something reserved for a select few, it’s something we all have within us. It grows when we take the time to learn, to try new techniques and to simply enjoy the process. Every class you take, every project you start and every idea you explore helps strengthen that creative muscle.
So, keep experimenting, keep learning and most importantly… keep creating!
Thank you for being part of what makes Seamless Getaways so special. The creativity, laughter and connection you bring into this space is truly magical. I hope to see you here soon!
