Fall-ing for Creativity at Seamless Getaways!

Updated: Oct 11

Seamless Getaways is beautifully decorated for fall! I’ve added seasonal touches throughout the retreat that create a cozy atmosphere perfect for quilting and crafting. The changing leaves outside and autumn-scented air provide the ideal backdrop for your next creative project.

September brought wonderful energy to Seamless Getaways with four fun and creative retreats. Two groups enjoyed their private retreat quilting and scrapbooking. Our Collage Quilting & Inktense Pencils weekend brought together quilters eager to explore new techniques, resulting in stunning artwork that reflected each participant's personal vision. In the picture below you will see “The Red, White, and Blue” quilt, and Flower Shop #3 Faces. The Tamarack Jacket retreat offered participants the opportunity to create wearable art from cherished fabrics or family textiles, with each jacket becoming a unique expression of the maker's style and story.

This month, I’m excited to share our featured seasonal quilt, introduce a new daybed addition and highlight upcoming opportunities to join Linda for classes, workshops and 2026 retreats!

Guest Spotlight: Mary's Masterpiece

ree

Sometimes the perfect project is worth the wait! Meet Mary, who had been carefully storing a special quilt in her closet for two years, knowing it deserved something extraordinary. When she joined our Tamarack Jacket retreat, she found the perfect way to give it new life.

Mary selected and positioned specific sections of the quilt to create a stunning wearable work of art. The back of her jacket is absolutely fabulous, but the front is even more spectacular – a true testament to the magic that happens when meaningful textiles meet creative vision and the Tamarack pattern.

Feature of the Month: Haunted House Collage Quilt

ree

Our Haunted House collage quilt is stealing the show this season! This charming 16x20 inch piece is packed with delightful Halloween details – fluttering bats along with playful ghosts and skeletons add just the right touch of spooky fun.

The intricate layering and thoughtful fabric choices create depth and movement that draws viewers in for a closer look.

Currently on display throughout the fall season, this quilt has become a guest favorite and serves as wonderful inspiration for your own collage quilting projects or seasonal home décor. It's a perfect example of how Laura Heine's collage techniques can bring any theme to life with creativity and artistic flair.

New Daybed at Seamless Getaways!

We're pleased to announce a new sleeping option at Seamless Getaways! A comfortable daybed has been added to our first floor, creating an accessible retreat space for guests who prefer to avoid stairs. Located conveniently near a full bathroom on the same level, this cozy spot is ready for use while decorating touches are finalized.

This thoughtful addition ensures that everyone can fully enjoy their creative getaway, regardless of mobility needs, while also providing a quiet corner for reading or relaxing between crafting sessions.

The spirit of fall extends beyond our retreat walls. Here are upcoming events and workshops that Linda will be teaching in the months ahead:
