All You Need Is Love … and a Little Creative Time at Seamless Getaways!

Updated: Feb 10

February is often called the season of love, and here at Seamless Getaways, that feels especially fitting. It’s a love for creativity, a love for gathering and a love for the friendships that form when quilters come together with time, space and inspiration.

Our most recent Inktense and Collage Quilting Retreat was a beautiful reminder of why I love hosting retreats so much. We welcomed quilters from near and far, with guests traveling from Virginia, Michigan, Arizona, Indiana and right here in Illinois. Watching friendships form, ideas spark and confidence grow in just a few short days never gets old – it’s truly one of the greatest joys of what I do.

January’s retreats were filled with laughter, focused creative time, shared meals and that special retreat energy that happens when distractions fade and creativity takes center stage. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to step away from everyday life and create alongside others who truly get it – this is it.

And the fun isn’t over yet… there’s so much more ahead to look forward to!

A Sweet New Chapter

February has brought a very special kind of joy to our family. I’m thrilled to share that I became a grandma once again!

Sweet baby Everett Ross Lambert joined our family recently and has completely captured our hearts. Life feels especially meaningful in this season, and I’m soaking up every precious moment.

Feature of the Month: Lola and Olive

Lola and Olive comes to life through hundreds of individually cut flowers, thoughtfully layered to create two playful pigs full of personality and depth. Soft pink values shape and shade each pig, while individually placed blades of grass and leaves create a lively, textured scene.

What makes this collage especially unique is that every element (even the smallest details like the eyes) is made entirely from floral fabrics. While not all collage quilts rely solely on flowers, this piece embraces florals from start to finish, showcasing how intentional fabric choices and careful placement can transform a simple concept into a richly detailed and imaginative work of art. Lola and Olive is a wonderful example of how creativity, patience and thoughtful layering can bring a quilt to life in unexpected ways.

Inside Our Retreat Season

January was a beautiful way to start the year, and I’m so grateful to everyone who joined us at the retreat tables. If you missed out or find yourself inspired by all the creativity happening you’re in luck.

There are more retreats ahead, each designed to give you time to slow down, learn something new and enjoy meaningful connection. Whether you come solo or bring a friend, Seamless Getaways offers a welcoming space where creativity feels easy and community feels natural.
