I know this is a belated birthday wish but it is sincere. I’m thankful for the freedoms we have in the United States and for the men and women that continue to protect our freedoms. Thank you to those quilters that volunteer their time to create quilts of valor. Many local quilt shops have groups you can join to help create these quilts that honor our veterans.
So far this month we have had guests from Missouri, Wisconsin, Indiana, and the Chicago Suburbs. Seamless Getaways is centrally located; it’s a great place to meet up with friends for your quilting/scrapbooking/crafting retreats!
In this picture: Dress Form, Cakes & Cups, Sea Turtle, Butterfly, 2 Pin Cushions & Sewing Machine, The Dress, Spool of Flowers…. These quilts will be sewing machine covers, wall hangings, mounted on canvas, and quilts! These were created at a 3-day retreat at Seamless Getaways. I LOVE them ALL!
One year ago, I became a Laura Heine Certified Instructor. If you are not familiar with Laura’s designs, take a look at her patterns: Fiberworks Quilting Store | Quilt Shop in Billings, Montana (fiberworks-heine.com) Last week seven women, from four different locations, came together to create one of Laura’s collage quilts. The results were amazing, as you can see in these photos. They came as strangers and left as friends!

September 15-17: Laura Heine Retreat Weekend (CLOSED)
I'm sorry this weekend is full and there is one on a wait list, should there be a cancellation. This will be the last Laura Heine Collage Retreat for 2023. At the bottom of this newsletter, please see the area quilt shops where I will be teaching. Join me in supporting your local quilt shop! I am beginning to plan for collage quilting retreats in 2024. If you are wanting to learn this technique, be sure to sign up for a class as soon as possible. The dates fill quickly.
January 12-14, 2024: Laura Heine Retreat Weekend at Seamless Getaways
Laura’s quilts are creative, whimsical, and fun to create. During this weekend you will learn Laura's techniques to collage quilting. You will have the whole weekend to create, and finish your quilt. If you are creating a 19x23 design, you will even have time to create two quilts! There is a supply list for this weekend class listed on the website. You may purchase these supplies from me or get them at your favorite quilt shop. If you are thinking January is an uncertain time to travel, be confident in knowing there is a full refund should you need to cancel.
